Robotic hand walking research from ETH Zurich's Soft Robotics Lab teaches a five-finger hand to crawl across 14 different surface types, recover from falls, steer using onboard sensors, and press keyboard keys while supporting its own weight -- all without any separate locomotion hardware. Custom reinforcement learning trained in simulation enabled the system.
