Geneva to Host Global AI Summit in June 2027

Current Context: Switzerland announced that Geneva will host the Global AI Summit on 21–22 June 2027, with the agenda unveiled on 8 July 2026 during the AI for Good Global Summit 2026. Organised By: Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) in collaboration with the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). Purpose: To strengthen global cooperation on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and promote inclusive, safe, and responsible AI governance. Theme/Focus: Building a global agenda for AI governance, encouraging collaboration among governments, industry, academia, civil society, and international organisations to ensure AI benefits humanity. Participants: Global leaders, policymakers, AI researchers, technology companies, international organisations, academia, and civil society representatives. Significance: The summit will reinforce Geneva's role as a global hub for digital diplomacy and AI governance and build on the outcomes of previous international AI summits. Questions: Q1.
