Google is limiting Gemini models’ access for free and AI Plus users starting October 9: What is changing

Starting October 9, Google will implement restrictions on the AI models available to free users. Free users will only have access to the limited Flash-Lite model, with higher capabilities removed. AI Plus subscribers will lose access to the Pro model, maintaining only Flash-Lite and Flash. The changes aim to introduce compute-based usage limits across all subscription tiers. Paid users will enjoy higher usage limits compared to those without a subscription.
