India eyes nuclear energy to boost data center demand
NEW DELHI: The Centre is looking to harness nuclear energy as an alternative to meet the ever-surging power requirements of data centres, driven by increasing artificial intelligence (AI) workloads. “Nuclear energy will also have to be scaled up hand in hand as we move more into AI activities,” Jitendra Singh, union minister of state for atomic energy and earth sciences, told ETDatacenters, adding that there is also a need to expand renewable resources such as solar and wind energy.
