Labour Minister Efremova Highlights AI Impact on Youth, Labour Market

Labour and Social Policy Minister Natalia Efremova said on Friday that the impact of artificial intelligence on the labour market and young people is a very important topic. She was speaking at a trilateral meeting of the economic and social councils of Bulgaria, Spain and Portugal. The forum is hosted by Bulgaria and brings together representatives of the three consultative bodies, the legislative and executive authorities, the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria, as well as representatives of employers’ organizations, trade unions, academia and civil society. The main focus of the meeting is current challenges facing the labour market, policies for young people, economic growth, competitiveness and entrepreneurship. The Labour Minister welcomed the guests from Spain and Portugal and said that events of this kind allow the ministry to go beyond the borders of an individual country. "If a government does not take into account what you have to say, its policies cannot be successful," Efremova said. She also said that such events are extremely important for the exchange of practices and wished participants a productive exchange of ideas.
