OpenAI launches ChatGPT for Small Businesses programme with AI training, partner integrations

New Delhi: OpenAI has launched a new ChatGPT for Small Businesses programme aimed at helping entrepreneurs and small business owners improve productivity and scale operations using artificial intelligence. The initiative is designed to support small businesses that often operate with lean teams and limited resources, where owners juggle multiple roles spanning marketing, finance, operations, sales and strategy. OpenAI said it believes AI can act as a "force multiplier" by extending individual expertise, increasing capacity and giving businesses access to the kind of tools they need to pursue their biggest ambitions. As part of the programme, OpenAI will conduct hands-on virtual training sessions focused on real-world business applications of ChatGPT Work. The webinars will demonstrate how businesses can integrate AI into everyday workflows across accounting, marketing, ecommerce and more. Participants will also receive prompts, workflow templates and automation examples, alongside partner-led webinars and Q&A sessions. The company is also expanding its OpenAI Academy through in-person Small Business AI Academies across the United States. These workshops will provide guided instruction, practical exercises and opportunities for business owners to learn from one another. OpenAI said the format builds on last year's Small Business AI Jams, where 78% of participants built a functional AI workflow in a single day and 42% saved more than five hours a week using AI. To further simplify adoption, OpenAI is introducing a library of getting-started resources, including customer stories, interactive workflow guides that can be uploaded into ChatGPT Work and short-form educational videos. The resources are designed to help business owners begin using AI within minutes through ready-made prompts and practical examples. The programme also expands ChatGPT's ecosystem through new agents, plugins and partner integrations tailored for small businesses. OpenAI said users will be able to access specialised workflows and promotional offers from partners including Dropbox, Shopify, Intuit, Slack, Atlassian and Wix, enabling businesses to connect ChatGPT with tools they already use. According to the company, these integrations are intended to help automate common business processes while improving efficiency and accuracy across everyday operations. OpenAI said it will also use the programme to gather feedback from small businesses through webinars, local events and surveys. The company plans to use these insights to shape future product development, educational resources and customer experiences for the small business segment. The launch comes as AI adoption among small and medium-sized businesses continues to accelerate, with technology providers increasingly developing specialised tools, industry-specific workflows and training programmes to make generative AI more accessible to non-technical users.
