Stupa Sports Brings AI-Powered Video Review To Ultimate Table Tennis

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape sports technology, Stupa Sports has introduced an AI-powered video review system for Butterfly Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT), bringing evidence-backed officiating decisions to India's franchise table tennis league for the first time. The Gurugram-based sports technology firm announced the expansion of its multi-year partnership with Butterfly Ultimate Table Tennis through the launch of its proprietary Table Tennis Review (TTR) system for Season 7, which will be held in Goa from July 9 to July 26 at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium in Taleigao. The new system is designed to help match officials review contested decisions in under 20 seconds, adding AI-assisted officiating to the league's existing technology stack. AI Targets Faster And More Transparent Officiating Built specifically for elite table tennis, TTR addresses six key officiating scenarios, including serve toss height, serve toss angle, serve toss below surface, serve toss inside surface, ball hiding during serves, and table edge calls. The system uses 14 to 15 synchronised high-speed cameras positioned around the court to capture ball movement, serve mechanics, and table contact points from multiple angles. Its AI engine reconstructs each reviewable incident in near real time and generates a visual output that is made available to match officials while also integrating with the live broadcast. According to the company, the technology is designed to improve transparency and consistency in decision-making without interrupting match flow. Partnership Expands Beyond Match Analytics Stupa Sports has served as Butterfly Ultimate Table Tennis' official data and technology partner since Season 3 in 2019. Over the past four seasons, the company has developed the league's data infrastructure, including live scoring, player and team databases, match statistics, standings, and performance analytics. It also introduced AI-powered live statistics in Season 4 and Shot Speed Analytics during Season 5.
