Tech Beach Retreat launches TBRX
Tech Beach Retreat (TBR) — the Caribbean’s premier technology and innovation — has announced the launch of TBRX, the landmark 10th anniversary edition set to take place December 2-5, 2026 at Princess Resort in Montego Bay, St James. Dubbing it more than a milestone celebration, the TBR team said TBRX signals the next chapter in the platform’s evolution. Guided by strengthened leadership, expanded international partnerships, and a bold long-term vision, TBRX is designed to accelerate the Caribbean’s role in artificial intelligence (AI), entrepreneurship, investment, and digital transformation over the coming decade, the team said in a release. “When Tech Beach launched in 2016, the objective was clear: Connect the Caribbean with the world’s leading innovators, investors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders,” said Kirk-Anthony Hamilton, founder and CEO of Tech Beach Retreat. “Ten years later, artificial intelligence is reshaping every industry, investment is moving differently, and the Caribbean has a unique opportunity to become an active contributor to the global innovation economy. “TBRX reflects a commitment to ensuring the region is not simply adapting to change, but helping shape what comes next,” Hamilton said. According to the release, long before AI became a global priority, Tech Beach was introducing Caribbean audiences to emerging technologies. In 2017, the platform hosted one of the region’s earliest major conversations on AI when Pilar Manchón, then a director at Amazon, delivered a keynote titled Making Technology More Human. Today, Manchón serves in a senior AI leadership role at Google, reinforcing the platform’s ability to convene world-class thought leaders and spotlight transformative technologies ahead of the curve. Over the past decade, the release added, Tech Beach has welcomed founders, executives, policymakers, investors, and innovators representing many of the world’s leading technology companies. Beyond its speaker line-up, the platform has become recognised for facilitating meaningful relationships that generate investment, partnerships, business growth, and long-term commercial opportunities across the Caribbean innovation ecosystem. Tech Beach said, as part of its strategic evolution, it has strengthened its leadership structure, enhanced governance, and expanded international collaborations, transforming the platform from a flagship annual event into a year-round ecosystem focused on business development, capital formation, enterprise growth, and innovation. While technology remains at its core, the release said the platform has evolved to create measurable outcomes by connecting participants with strategic partnerships, global markets, and emerging technologies. TBRX is expected to reflect that evolution with programming spanning AI, fintech, cybersecurity, climate innovation, digital infrastructure, tourism innovation, entrepreneurship, venture capital, and enterprise transformation. The event is expected to convene founders, investors, executives, creators, policymakers, and innovators from across the Caribbean, North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa and beyond, reinforcing Jamaica’s position as a gateway for innovation and investment in the region. Coinciding with the launch of this next chapter, Tech Beach said it is also introducing a new unified digital identity across its social media platforms under the handle @TechBeachX. The release said the new brand reflects the evolution of the organisation while maintaining the equity built over the past decade and will serve as the central hub for TBRX announcements, ecosystem news, founder stories, partnership opportunities, and year-round engagement with the global Tech Beach community. “TBRX is about much more than commemorating 10 years,” Hamilton added. “It’s about building the platform the Caribbean needs for the decade ahead. We believe the region’s future will be shaped by those who can connect talent with capital, ideas with execution, and local opportunity with global markets. That’s the role Tech Beach intends to play.” Registration for TBRX 2026 is now open, with additional speaker announcements, partnership opportunities, and programming details to be released in the coming months, the release said.
