TRAI mandates telcos to act against AI-flagged spam callers without consumer complaints
India’s telecom regulator has introduced stricter rules requiring operators to act against senders identified as suspected spammers by AI or machine-learning systems. The measures include fresh KYC checks, temporary suspension of outgoing services for first-time violations and disconnection and blacklisting for repeat offenders. The amended regulations also revise consumer spam-blocking preferences and rules governing commercial communications.
